What is important in life? Love, marriage, children? Maybe education and books? This wedding had it all! Held at the beautiful Park Place venue in Shafter California, Jeremiah and Rhea Franklin got married on Valentines day 2016! What a great concept for friends and family to come together for the largest date night I have ever seen. No long restaurant lines, smooth service, good drinks, great music, and good company! What more could you ask for?
Park Place is an awesome venue to have your entire wedding. Having everything in one place can save you money by not needing a second photographer. We started the night before by setting up the GoPro to catch the whole day’s action. Have you ever felt like your day flew by at a million miles per hour? Well that is just what this looks like:

We arrived at Park Place and started photographing the event details. The candy bar was set up and ready to go, the tables were set, and all of the couples small personal touches were being add. I went to the brides cabin and photographed her with her girls a little bit, and then bounced over to the guys cabin and shot with them. I did a little more back and forth, and then it was wedding time!
We have already been asked about their book arch several times. It was custom made by the Groom and his father just for the wedding. Jeremiah plans to take it apart and make something else out of it for their home. One idea is a coffee table. Does anyone have suggestions for him?
This arch is one of the coolest personal touches I have seen at one of our weddings.
After the ceremony, we did family and bridal party photos, which we made as quick and painless as possible per the couples request. We reserved a little bit of time for couples photos, but we knew from the beginning this couple was different than a majority of our couples. During their wedding consultation they were very upfront that they wanted a large majority of candid photographs. We did some posed but candid looking photos during their engagement session, which they liked, but for the wedding day they wanted genuine expression from them and their guests, not looking at the camera smiling and saying cheese. Once we got the “boring” traditional photos out of the way, we released them to the reception to practice our sharp shooting long lens skills.
They had some great food from Too Fat, and Mike from Freestyle rocked the house all night long with great music choices. With all the unique details and situations, this was a novel wedding and was one for the books….
