It is always an honor for us to photograph a military wedding, but this one was super awesome! Sergeant Alex Rodriguez, United States Marine Corp, is a great man–having a wonderful attitude about life, incredibly courteous, and a respect that runs deep for his family and others.
We started the day off with Celina at the Courtyard Marriott–both our photo and cinema team ready to capture every special moment. We photographed and filmed all the details of Celina getting ready–Celina’s hair was done by Mariam Vargas and makeup by Lilly. We then headed over to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, and hooked up with Alex to capture the moments of him getting ready. Seeing him button up the coat to his dress blues definitely made us feel exceptionally grateful for his service and to be a part of such a special moment in his life.
Monsignor Craig officiated the wedding–who is a real gem here in Bakersfield, and, honestly, even outside of Bakersfield. We love listening to him talk at weddings–it is so easy to get lost in what he is saying because his advice and insights are so relevant. The ceremony went well until the first kiss…
Do you have concerns about your photographer missing things at your wedding? How about missing your first kiss? Please, read on…
Monsignor Craig introduced the couple, as always, and said “As a sign of your sacrament, Alex, I ask you please to kiss your wife” and before Alex even kissed Celina, he said “That’s enough!”
OMG, how could we have possibly captured that first kiss?!?! Thank goodness we have a great deal of experience! #pros
After the ceremony, we took family photos at the church, and, then, headed over to Mill Creek Park to take some bridal party photos. The bridal party had a lot of personality! We took some fun photos, and, then, Alex switched out of his uniform into a tux, so we took photos and video in his new look, and, headed to El Tango to start the party! We had a delicious dinner by NV Catering and cake by Tasteries! It was a beautiful reception, and we had such a great time being a part of their wedding.
Alex and Celina, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day. Semper Fi, God Bless, and cheers to many happy years of marriage ahead!
